BirdieConnect vs GolfNow
GolfNow books discounted tee times at thousands of courses. BirdieConnect is for the part booking does not solve — who you are playing with, and everything that happens around the round.
What GolfNow is
GolfNow is a tee time marketplace, part of NBC Sports. It books tee times at 9,000+ courses worldwide, often at discounted Hot Deal pricing, and its app includes free GPS and rangefinder plus scorekeeping and post-game analysis. GolfNow Compete is a separate app for tournaments, games, and group rounds.
Why golfers look for an alternative
GolfNow solves the tee sheet. It does not solve the foursome. Golfers who can book a time but still need three people to fill it, or who want the group to survive past a single round, are looking for a different thing — and that is what BirdieConnect is.

Common questions
- Is BirdieConnect a GolfNow alternative?
- Not a replacement — they solve different problems. GolfNow books the tee time. BirdieConnect finds the people, keeps the group together, and handles the trip, the scorecard, and the tournament. Most golfers who use BirdieConnect still book through a course or through GolfNow.
- Can I book tee times in BirdieConnect?
- No. BirdieConnect does not sell or book tee times. You can post a round you have already booked and let golfers claim the open slots from a public link.
- What is GolfNow Compete?
- A separate GolfNow app for tournaments, games, and group rounds. The main GolfNow app is focused on booking, GPS, and scorekeeping.
- Does BirdieConnect have GPS?
- No. BirdieConnect is not a GPS, rangefinder, or shot-tracking app. Keep GolfNow or any GPS app for yardages.
